Is a Chatbot Worth It for a Small Business?
5 min read
Chatbots have a poor reputation, mostly earned by clunky ones that answer nothing. Done properly, a modern AI assistant can be genuinely helpful — but it isn't right for every business.
When it's worth it
If you get the same ten questions over and over — opening times, prices, availability, how to book — an assistant trained on your own information can answer them instantly, day or night, and hand over to a person when needed.
When it isn't
If most enquiries are complex, personal or high value, customers usually want to speak to you. In that case a fast, well-designed enquiry form and a quick personal reply will win more work.
The middle ground
Often the best answer is smaller: instant text replies to missed calls, or automatic acknowledgements so nobody waits. Simple, cheap and very effective.
